James E. Mahar, Jr.
 With the firm since 1974, Mr. Mahar has 32 years experience in litigation and 15 years experience in mediation.
He has litigation experience in personal injury, wrongful death, business, construction, and domestic relations cases. Mr. Mahar has handled over 600 mediations in a wide variety of cases.
Mr. Mahar is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, and the Gainesville-Northeastern Circuit Bar Association serving as president from 1996 to 1997. He is a registered mediator, arbitrator and early neutral case evaluator. Mr. Mahar also serves as a Special Master for attorney discipline cases.
Having an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Georgia , he also holds a Jurist Doctorate degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. Prior to entering law school, Mr Mahar served as a U.S. Army officer in Vietnam. He is a member of the Gainesville Rotary Club.
